If you want a dental restoration that looks and feels as though it is really a natural part of yoru mouth, dental implants may be right for you.  A dental implant is an articicial tooth root which is made of titanium.  your jaw bone fuses to the implant to provide a secure platform for an artificial toorth (prosthesis).  It often takes a few months for the jawbone to firmly attach to the implant.  Once it has attached, the abutment is placed (abutments are connecting pieces that join the prosthesis to the implat).
